On February 20th at 5pm, PAL will host Deborah Nelson. Professor Nelson is chair of the University of Chicago’s English department, and she is the author of Tough Enough: Arbus, Arendt, Didion, McCarthy, Sontag, Weil. Her book won the MLA’s prestigious James Russell Lowell prize in 2017.

Her talk is entitled “Tenderness and Terror” and it will take place on East Campus, in the East Duke Building’s Pink Parlor.
